Ferryl 401 has recently had a packaging makeover, with a new label and a slightly adjusted product description. The classic “Ferryl 401” name remains as before, but its description has been updated to an “Anticorrosive Transparent Coating.”
The product still offers a slightly flexible coating (due to the plastic compounds) but the new description emphasises what it is: a coating.
Meanwhile Ferryl has seen a surge of interest in Ferryl 401 coating as a result of work by Ferryl’s sales-team, Wanyong, in Shanghai, China. Companies recognise that metal parts are vulnerable to rust so even if you want to just keep the original metal appearance, you need to coat these areas with something.
Above is a simple demonstration on a steel plate. The uncoated left side rusts quickly when left outside. The right side is spotless; it is coated with Ferryl 401. The product provides excellent rust protection but maintains the original colour and appearance of the metal.
In practise you may paint such a steel surface, but many areas you do not want to paint. Ferryl 401 can be used on expensive metals like copper, stainless steel, aluminium and brass.

Ferryl Sales Limited is proud to present the updated design of the drum for their famous Ferryl 202 Standard Anticorrosive Grease. October saw the delivery by Ferryl Sales of the first truckload of new drums to the Research, Production and Storage facility, Ferryl Deutschland.
The new drum maintains the well-known green colour and Ferryl logo but has some important improvements. The new drum includes a description of the product in nine different languages – English, Chinese, Greek, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Standard Arabic, German and Norwegian.
Founded in 1955, Ferryl started selling to Swedish industries and ships. Today the Ferryl product range, sold by Ferryl Sales Limited, is used globally. The aim of the updated drum is to be user-friendly for international consumers. Anyone using the product should at a glance be able to understand what the product is, in at least one language that they understand.
The information on the back of the drum is printed in English, including updated contact information and the most current information about the product’s properties, range of applications and directions for use.
Ferryl is happy to report that many shipchandlers and suppliers in North America that Ferryl has visited in the past are now linked together in the United Chandlers Group. United Chandlers combines ten major ship supply companies that together service 140 ports in the U.S.A. and Canada. United Chandlers have “strength in depth and quality” thanks to their belief that “no order is too small or too large.”
The unification of substantial experience in quality ship supply with United Chandlers entails increased accessibility of the Ferryl products throughout North America. Furthermore, the group links professionals who are familiar both with the Ferryl name and the high-quality Ferryl products.

Ferryl Sales Limited visited Klausen-Gestby Co. Inc. – a member of the United Chandlers group located in Boston, Massachusetts. Ferryl met with Manager Nils Gjesteby recently who is both ambitious and enthusiastic. He is this issue’s ‘Ferryl Man’! Further south, R.S. Stern, a shipsupplier in operation since 1870, supplies ports in Delaware and Maryland from their base in Baltimore. R.S. Stern continues to receive steady enquiries for the Ferryl products. The company is currently under the direction of President Alan Kotz. In Houston, as well as other ports throughout Texas, EMS ship supply is responsible for supplying the Ferryl products. EMS is of course also very familiar with Ferryl through their acquisition of Provimar S.A. in Spain – a supplier of the Ferryl products for many years.
Peltz Marine, responsible for supplying ports throughout Virginia and North Carolina from Norfolk, is yet another member of the group. Peltz has been prioritising excellent quality service to shipowners and managers for over 100 years. Further north in Eastern Canada, Ferryl’s connection with Seagulf Marine Industries Inc. dates back many years. With their slogan "A League Ahead," Seagulf have built up strength through quality service since 1958. Other members of the group are Delaware Ship Supply, Harbor Ship Supply on the West Coast of the U.S.A., Triton Marine based in Vancouver, and Kamil Ship Supply based in Alabama.

Ferryl's transition into their new Research, Production and Storage Facility simultaneously required the leaving of the Swedish production site in Staffanstorp where the Ferryl Anticorrosive Products have been produced since 1955.
To symbolise this momentous transition into the new facility in Zimmern ob. Rottweil the last drum of Ferryl 202 Standard Anticorrosive Grease to be filled in Sweden was filled only half way, to be filled completely with the onset of production in the new facility.
Ferryl is happy to report that the half-filled drum has now been filled. This achievement not only signals a completed transition, but also the commencement of a new era for Ferryl. After over 50 years in Sweden, Ferryl is embarking on a new phase with opportunities for ever more superior products, higher quality and better service.
30 years ago Ferryl introduced its products to Robert Aquilina, Chairman and CEO of the Salvo Grima Group, and Michael Clews at Salvo Grima, a ship supplier located in Valletta, Malta – a central location for supply in the Mediterranean. In August of this year Ferryl re-established their ties with Salvo Grima, working in Malta now with the 6th generation as well, represented by Robert’s son, Karl.

Ferryl is happy to announce that they have a new agent in Danzig, Poland - Meie Michalak Anna i Leszek Michalak s.c.
Pawel Warywoda contacted Ferryl earlier this year showing interest in the Ferryl Products. Now he will be the first stockist for the Ferryl Products in Poland.
Ferryl is proud to expand their distribution network ever further and looks forward to great sales and a fruitful business cooperation with Meie Michalak.
In the 1950's many Ferryl products were developed to meet specific needs of Swedish industries. In 1957 Husqvarna placed their first order for Ferryl 104 - a specialty anticorrosive oil - used for the rust protection of vital axels in their sewing machines. Today, 50 years later, Husqvarna continue to purchase Ferryl 104 and are unable to find a substitute that meets their needs.
Husqvarna, Ferryl's oldest customer, is also one of the world's oldest industries. Founded in 1689, they have produced everything from muskets to bicycles. They are famous for their sewing machines, of which they have produced 9.2 million so far!

Recently Ferryl met with Production Technology Manager Arne Carlsson and his colleagues in Huskvarna, about an hour east of Gothenburg, Sweden. Ferryl was happy to hear that not only is Ferryl 104 still being used, but its use is also being extended into other Husqvarna factories around the world.
Soon all sewing machines produced in their factory in Shanghai, China, will also be protected against rust thanks to Ferryl rust inhibitors.
Husqvarna's use of Ferryl products is not only proof of the quality of the Ferryl Anticorrosive Products in the past, but a testament to the need for Ferryl products in the future. The unique rust inhibitors in Ferryl 104, which have stood the test of time for Husqvarna, are a primary feature of Ferryl products today. Through continued development of specific products for specific needs, aided by the new facility being built in Baden-Württemberg, Ferryl will continue to produce optimal, high quality products that will stand the test of time.
In February of this year Ferryl met with Per Lokkegaard, Commercial Manager in Barcelona, to further develop the marketing of Ferryl products in Spain. Mr. Lokkegaard was very confident about the potential for increased activity for Ferryl.
Sales in Spain and Portugal continue to increase through Ferryl's cooperation with Provimar S.A., Europe's leading ship supplier, with the largest branch network and best port coverage in Spain. Provimar anticipate a 20% increase in Ferryl sales from 2006 to 2007.
With over 20 branches (each a substantial ship supplier) Provimar easily cover the entire Iberian coastline. Every branch is knowledgeable about the Ferryl products and equipped with product information in order to supply any vessel with the desired Ferryl product.
